Divan Bed Assembly Guide
Setting up a Divan Bed is a simple procedure, if you are unfamiliar with the process you can follow these easy steps.
Your new divan bed should come with a few parts which need to be assembled:
- Divan Base(s)
- Wheels / Chrome Glides
- Plastic Connectors / Metal Link Bars & Screws
- Headboard Bolts
- Headboard
- Headboard Legs & Screws
A screwdriver is required to attach the legs to the headboard and to connect the divan if your model uses metal link bars to secure the halves of the base together.
Setting up the Divan Base (Single Beds)
- Remove the packaging from your divan base.
- Insert the wheels into the slots on the underside of the base.
Setting up the Divan Base (Double, King Size or Super King Size)
- Remove the packaging from your divan base.
- Insert the wheels/glides into the slots on the underside of the base.
If your base connects with plastic clips:
- Place the two halves of the base on their side in order to insert the clips on the underside.
- Lower the base down gently so the clips do not dislodge.
If your base connects with metal link bars:
- Loosen the screws in the metal link bars if they already come attached.
- Push the two halves of the base together with enough pressure to make them flush.
- Tighten the screws in the metal link bars to keep the bases flush.
Attaching the Headboard
- Remove the packaging from your headboard.
- Attach the legs to the rear of the headboard using the 4 screws provided, this step is not necessary with floor standing headboards.
- Find the headboard bolt holes in the divan base, puncture the fabric in order to insert the headboard bolts.
- Lower the headboard onto the headboard bolts, set the headboard to an acceptable height and tighten the headboard bolts as tight as possible by hand.
- Once you place your mattress on your divan base you can easily adjust the headboard height to sit flush above your mattress by loosening the headboard bolts, raising the headboard and re-tightening the bolts accordingly.
